WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State extended its winning streak to six games with a 2-1 victory over Texas A&M-Kingsville in the first game of the doubleheader at Mustangs Park on Wednesday afternoon, but the Javelinas salvaged a game in the three-game series with a 7-3 victory in the nightcap.

GAME 1 | Texas A&M-Kingsville 1, Midwestern State 2
Kennedy Cameron (3-7) pitched her third complete game of the season and only allowed four hits through seven innings without giving up an earned run. Cameron struck out eight Javelinas and only issued three walks in the game.
The Mustangs gave Cameron a 2-0 lead in the first inning.
Kayla Bryant led off the game with a base hit up the middle and reached third base on a throwing error after
Camile Nunez grounded into a fielder's choice. Nunez and Bryant executed a double steal to score the first run of the game.
Allie Monroe hit a ground ball to first base, advancing Nunez to third base. Nunez scored when
Paige Gallegos grounded out to shortstop.
The Javelinas scored in the third inning. Anissa Lechner reached base on a dropped fly ball to lead off the inning. Rylee Oborski advanced Lechner to second base with a sacrifice bunt, and she ended up at third base on a Jackie Garza single to center field. A throwing error allowed Lechner to score the only run of the game for the Javelinas.
Jordyn Rodriguez (5-3) threw a complete game for TAMUK, allowing just two runs on five hits and induced 10 ground ball outs. Rodriguez had two strikeouts and did not walk a batter.

Addison Lindemann (6-10) was aiming for a fifth straight win in the circle for the Mustangs, but the freshman only made it through 1 2/3 innings before Shayanne Florence came on in relief with the Javelinas leading, 3-0. Lindemann reentered the game in the seventh inning and got the final two outs for the Mustangs.
Lindemann pitched 2 1/3 innings, allowing three runs on four hits with three walks and one strikeout. All four hits for the Javelinas were doubles.
Florence lasted 3 1/3 innings for the Mustangs. The freshman from Humble, Texas, allowed two runs on three hits with two walks.
Zoey Isom was the third pitcher to enter the circle for MSU, and she yielded two runs on two hits with three walks and two strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings.
Aaliyah Oritiz capped the scoring for the Javelinas with her 10th home run of the season in the seventh inning. Alexis Rameriz drove in two runs for TAMUK. Lindsey Evans, Dakota Martinez, Rae Ann Cortinas and Victoria Mosqueda each drove in a runs for the Javelinas, who tacked on two runs in the fifth inning and two more in the seventh.
Brianna Dominguez drove home the first run of the game for the Mustangs in the second inning.
Megan Ayala singled to right field with one out and advanced to third base on a
Mikey Dominguez base hit that was deflected by Mariah Vasquez, who was making a diving effort on a ground ball to the right side. Ayala scored when
Brianna Dominguez lifted a fly ball to centerfield.
Camile Nunez doubled to right center as the lead-off hitter in the seventh inning. A wild pitch sent Nunez to third base, and she scored on a
Mikey Dominguez base hit to center field.
Mikey Dominguez scored on
Kayla Bryant's single to right field. With two runners on and two outs,
Allie Monroe hit a fly ball to center field that Evans caught to end the rally and the Mustangs winning streak.
Texas A&M-Kingsville is 26-18 overall with a 19-17 record against Lone Star Conference opponents.
Midwestern State is 12-30 overall and 10-23 in conference play. The Mustangs are on the road to face St. Mary's in San Antonio for a three-game series. A doubleheader is scheduled for St. Mary's Softball Stadium on Saturday, starting at 1 p.m. The final game of the series is at noon on Sunday.
