PORTALES, New Mexico -- Freshman
Addison Lindemann weaved a four-hitter for her first collegiate shutout and connected on a two-run home run in the first inning to lead Midwestern State to a 3-0 win over Eastern New Mexico in the Lone Star Conference series finale Friday afternoon at Greyhound Field.
The Mustangs took two out of three from ENMU for their second series win of the season to improve to 7-29 overall and 5-22 in league play.
MSU's
Kayla Bryant laced a double to the right-field gap on the first pitch of the game, then Lindemann launched her second homer of the season over the center-field fence to give the Mustangs the early 2-0 advantage.
It was all Lindemann would need in the circle as the Holliday native limited the Greyhounds to four hits. All were single and three of them never left the infield.

Lindemann claimed both of MSU's wins of the series in the circle and it was first time this season that right-hander started two games in a three-game set. She improved to 4-9 on the season.
Lindemann has been brilliant in her last eight appearances, winning three times while posting a 0.84 ERA dating back to the second game of the UT Tyler series. She has allowed five earned runs on 21 hits in 41 2/3 innings with 28 strikeouts during the stretch.
Lindemann's second homer of the season extended her hitting streak to five games.
Midwestern State loaded the bases in the fourth inning with
Megan Ayala's double to right field chasing Eastern New Mexico starter Marissa Rodriguez.
Reliever Jordan Rivera plunked MSU
Maegan Shannon before Camille Nunez lined a single to left field to load the bases with no out.
Rivera settled in to induce
Levi Luna to pop out before striking out Briana Dominguez and appeared on the verge of wiggling the Greyhounds off of the hook before hitting Bryant with a pitch to force in the Mustangs' third run of the game.
Rodriguez, who was the reigning LSC Pitcher of the Week, took the loss to fall to 8-8, allowing three runs on three hits in three innings. Rivera came on to pitch four scoreless innings of two-hit relief for the Greyhounds which fell to 20-18 and 13-17.
Midwestern State begins a six-game home stand with a doubleheader against Western New Mexico Saturday afternoon at Mustangs Park. First pitches are set for noon and 2 p.m.
