WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State's Seth Bearden fired a pair of par-or-better scores on the way to a fourth-place showing in the MSU Invitational Tuesday afternoon at the Wichita Falls Country Club.

The sophomore from Crowell also matched UT Permian Basin Sangha Park and Cameron's Rudy Sautron with a tournament-high 12 birdies as he battled his way to his fourth Top-5 individual finish of the season.

Bearden recovered from a 5-over 76 in the opening round to log an even-low, 3-under 68 in windy conditions in the second round on Monday, then notched a 1-under 70 in unseasonably cold conditions on Tuesday.

His 1-over total of 214 was three strokes off the pace of Odessa College's Adam Bresnu (69-71-71) and West Texas A&M's Wyatt Provence (72-69-70), who tied at the top of the leader board with matching 2-under totals of 211.

Bresnu won a three-hole playoff to secure individual medalist honors.

The Mustangs placed fifth as a team, carding scores of 300, 295, and 292 for a 35-over total of 887.

Dallas Baptist (877/+25) surged from fourth place in the second round, carding a tournament-low, 2-under 282 in the final round to win by two strokes over Odessa College (878/+26). UT Permian Basin (884/+32) and Colorado Mesa (886/+34) finished third and fourth, respectively.

Senior Robert Garcia (74-74-76) tied for 20th with an 11-over 224, while fellow senior Keaton Dickens (74-78-74) tied for 30th with a 13-over 226.

Junior Trevor Walsh (79-80-72) tied for 55th, and Gatlin Goad (76-75-81) tied for 60th.

Senior J.T. Boyd led the the "B" squad to an 11th-place team showing by firing scores of 79, 74, and 73 to tie for 30th with a 13-over 226, while Hank Germany (76-74-80) and Kevin Yang (77-79-74) tied for 47th with matching, 17-over totals of 230.

Meanwhile, James Perry (76-81-76) and Ethan Dean (81-76-76) tied for 63rd with 20-over totals of 233.

Midwestern State competes in the RJGA Palm Valley Classic on April 8-9 at the Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Arizona.
