LSC Men's Soccer Championship Central

The six-team field has been announced for the 2024 Lone Star Conference Men's Soccer Championship, which will be held Saturday, Nov. 9 (quarterfinals), Nov. 15 (semifinals) and Nov. 14 (final). Punching its tickets are St. Mary's, Midwestern State, St. Edward's, West Texas A&M, DBU and UT Tyler.
 
St. Mary's is the top seed and earned a first-round bye as well as the right to host the semifinals and championship match at Sigma Beta Chi Field in San Antonio, Texas. The Rattlers (12-3-3 overall, 8-1-1 LSC) claimed the LSC regular season championship – their second in program history (also 2022) – with 25 points in the standings. StMU had an eight-game winning streak during the entire month of October that included six shutouts. The Rattlers lead the conference with nine shutouts and a .67 opponents scoring average.
 
Midwestern State (12-2-3, 7-2-1 LSC) is the No. 2 seed with 22 points and also earned a first-round bye. The Mustangs have won three consecutive LSC tournaments and four overall (also 2019). MSU, which enters the event on a three-match winning streak, has reached the title match in eight straight conference tournaments it has played in. The 11-time LSC champion Mustangs lead the league with a 2.235 scoring average.
 
St. Edward's (7-5-4, 5-2-3 LSC) is the No. 3 seed with 18 points and claimed a right to host a quarterfinal match against No. 6 seed UT Tyler (4-5-7, 2-2-6 LSC). The Hilltoppers and Patriots will play Saturday (Nov. 9) at Lewis Chen Family Field in Austin, Texas. The start time will be announced Nov. 7.
 
West Texas A&M (6-6-5, 4-2-4 LSC) is the No. 4 seed and will get to host No. 5 seed DBU (5-5-7, 4-3-3 LSC, 15 points) in the quarterfinals. WT won the LSC tourney in 2020 and owns five regular season crowns. DBU reached the LSC tournament final last year. The Buffs and Patriots will battle Saturday (Nov. 9) at The Pitch in Canyon, Texas. The start time will be announced Nov. 7.
 
UT Tyler and Lubbock Christian both had 12 points in the standings, but the Patriots got the edge using the LSC's tiebreaker policy.
 
The semifinals on Friday, Nov. 15 will feature StMU against the WT/DBU victor at 5 p.m. CT, followed by MSU against the SEU/UT TYLER winner at 7:30 p.m. CT
 
The title match is set for Sunday, Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. CT.
 
In the latest NCAA Division II Super Region 4 rankings released on Nov. 6, MSU is No. 6 and StMU is No. 12. StMU is ranked No. 11 in the country in the latest United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Top 25 poll, while MSU is receiving votes.
 
Every match of the LSC Championship will be available live on FloCollege. Monthly ($19.99) and yearly ($107.88) subscriptions are available. Those who use an .edu email address from an LSC member institution will be able to sign up at a discounted subscription price of $9.99 per month or $69.99 for the year ($5.83/month).
 
The winner of the event will be named the LSC Men's Soccer Tournament champion and earn the league's automatic qualification to the 2024 NCAA Division II Championship. The regional selection show is Nov. 18 at 5:30 p.m. CT on NCAA.com. The first and second rounds are set for Nov. 22-24 and the third and quarterfinal rounds are set for Dec. 1-7 at sites to be determined. The semifinals and national title will be Dec. 12-14 at Mecklenburg County Sportsplex at Matthews in Matthews, N.C.
