SAN ANTONIO -- Midwestern State's
Mere Escobar repeated as Lone Star Conference Player of the Year with the release of the league's annual postseason Thursday night.
The senior from Austin capped a another brilliant campaign by leading the league with 17 goals, eight assists, and double the runner-up in with 36 total points.
Escobar, who was also tabbed as the LSC's Midfielder of the Year for the second time in his career, is on 58 career goals which matches the program's all-time high previously set by Alvin Alexander from 1975-78 and matched by Kris Henderson from 1987-90.
Merito accounted for multiple goals in five matches this season, including a hat trick against Texas A&M International and braces in wins over MSU Denver, Fort Hays State, Southern Nazarene, and Lubbock Christian.
During his career, the Mustangs are an astounding 39-0-2 when Escobar scores.
Escobar earned first-team All-LSC honors following each of the last four campaigns, was the LSC Forward of the Year in 2023 and was also the league's top midfielder in 2022.
Escobar was joined in the first team by senior defenders
Tristian Adams and
Juan Galindo and senior forward
Samuele Muroni.
The first-team accolades is Adams' second of his career. The Mustangs posted an 8-0-2 mark in his 10 matches this season and he scored goals in both wins over the LSC champion St. Mary's Rattlers.
Galindo earned all-league honors for the third time in his career after gaining LSC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2023, while Muroni finished as the team's second-best scoring option by scoring seven goals.

Jarrod McKechnie, and junior goalkeeper
Daniel Robles garnered third-team accolades.
The Mustangs also boasted four student-athletes on the LSC All-Freshman Team, including midfielder
Cooper Tea, forward
Liam Kervick, as well as twin defenders Ethan and
Skyler Krchnak.
Midwestern State takes on St. Edward's in the Lone Star Conference Postseason Tournament semifinals Friday night at Sigma Beta Chi Field on the St. Mary's campus. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
The winners moves on to the finals against either St. Mary's or Dallas Baptist on Sunday.
