WICHITA FALLS, Texas --  Mere Escobar scored three goals and Midwestern State defeated Texas A&M International at Stang Park on Saturday night, 5-2.
Midwestern State improved to 6-1-2 overall and 1-1-0 in Lone Star Conference play with the victory.
How it Happened
The Mustangs took the lead first on Escobar's 14th-minute goal and led the rest of the game.
Escobar finished the night with the third hat trick of his career, and it was the 11th time he scored two or more goals in his five-year career at MSU.
Escobar has scored 10 goals in nine matches this season.
Escobar has 54 career goals at Midwestern State and is the third all-time leading goal scorer in the history of the program. Only Alvin Alexander and Kris Henderson have scored more goals wearing the Maroon & Gold. Alexander netted 58 goals from 1975-1978, and Henderson scored 58 goals from 1987-1990.
Max Gonzales scored twice in the second half.
