WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State scored twice in the second half to come away with a 2-1 win over Oklahoma Baptist Wednesday night at Stang Park.
The win is the second straight for the Mustangs, who improved to 2-1-2, but had to overcome a halftime deficit for the second straight.
Oklahoma Baptist took advantage of shaky clearance to create its only scoring opportunity in the first half.
Alanna Bloomingdale trapped a ball inside the Bison attacking third and sent a ball to the top of the box for Lex Williamson, who out-touched a pass for an opening for Kaylee Swaner.
Swaner sent her first goal of the season to the right side of the net to give the Bison a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute.
But the Mustangs took advantage of a their own good fortune in the 54th minute.

Averi Culver's head at the near post, then ball glanced off Ryann Caruth's hands resulting in a penalty kick for the Mustangs.
Lexi Beck drilled a shot into the upper-right corner of the net for the equalizer.
Just over two minutes later, the Mustangs were the beneficiaries of another restart near the attacking third.
This time,
Taryn Sueltz sent an arcing ball into the box that pin-balled out to the left side of the area for sophomore
Lyndi Maxson.
Maxson drilled the ball into the same upper-left corner of the net for her first collegiate goal to provide the game winner for the Mustangs.
Midwestern State hits the road to take on Southwestern Oklahoma State (0-4-1) Sunday afternoon in Weatherford. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
Oklahoma Baptist dipped to 1-4.
