WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Junior transfer Riley Rabedeaux put down 11 kills with a .320 hitting percentage and was one of three Mustangs delivering strong debuts Thursday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.

Freshmen Jaiden Wright and Isabella Dickens added identical lines with seven kills with a .250 hitting percentage, while sophomore Robyn White logged her first collegiate double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs.

In the end, it wasn't enough to overcome a pair of strong performances by Lacy Mott and Zoey Sparks as Southwestern Oklahoma State claimed a 25-21, 25-17, 15-25, 25-20 season opening win, but the performances show a bright path for the Mustangs moving forward.

Rabadeaux registered four kills on seven swings, while Wright had three kills on five attempts to lead MSU to a 25-15 win in the third set as the Mustangs hit .282 during the frame.

Mott logged 14 kills with two errors in 39 attempts to hit .308 for the Bulldogs, while Sparks had 10 kills with two errors for a .363 attack percentage.

Senior Lauryn Bourne led back row efforts with 19 digs, while sophomore libero Taygon Jones had 16.

Freshman setter Alayna Guerrero distributed 30 assists in her debut, while completing a double-double with 14 digs.

The Mustangs continue play in the Midwestern State Invitational with matches against West Alabama at 3 p.m. and Central Oklahoma at 7 p.m.
