Mustangs on the road to battle Lady Buffs

CANYON, Texas -- Midwestern State is on the road for a three-game series with No. 23-ranked West Texas A&M.

The Mustangs and Lady Buffs meet at Schaeffer Park and play a single game Tuesday at 6 p.m. before closing the series with a doubleheader on Wednesday at 1 and 3 p.m.

The games are set for broadcast on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network at MSUMustangs.com/streaming.

All video streams on the LSC Digital Network are also available on Over-The-Top (OTT) apps on Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV and Roku by searching "LSC Digital Network."

LAST TIME OUT | Midwestern State ended a 12-game slide with a 9-8 victory over Angelo State at Mustangs Park. MSU is 2-17 overall this season with a 1-11 record in conference play. Kayla Bryant had three hits, and Maegan Shannon drove in three runs. Sydney Gonzales, the starting pitcher for MSU, improved to 1-3 after allowing three earned runs on three hits over four innings. Gonzales had two strikeouts and survived four walks. Christine Billmeier worked two innings, allowing four runs on four hits, before Jasmine Trevino came in to get her first save. The Rambelles won the first two games of the series by identical 10-1 scores, hitting six home runs in the two games combined.

- Midwestern State and West Texas A&M meet for the 55th, 56th, and 57th time on the diamond Tuesday and Wednesday at Schaeffer Park.
- The Lady Buffs lead the series 32-22 and have won their last 22 meetings with the Mustangs.
- Midwestern State last beat the Lady Buffs in May of 2014, defeating No. 1-ranked West Texas A&M, 12-11, in Game 2 of the NCAA Division II South Central Region 1 Championships at Schaeffer Park.
