Guillou, Slocombe lead Mustangs past Augustana

KEARNEY, Nebraska -- Midwestern State polished off a perfect opening weekend with a 6-1 win over Augustana (S.D.) Saturday afternoon at Ernest Grundy Tennis Center.

Midwestern State returns to the courts Friday against Northwest Missouri State in Edmond before returning home to play Southeastern Oklahoma on Saturday.

Freshman Killian Guillou swept his way to four combined wins going a perfect 3-0 in singles play after earning the nod at No. 3 doubles with Stephen Slocombe in the final match on Saturday.

Guillou and Slocombe provided the clincher with a 6-4 win over Augustana's Tyson Cowger and Joseph Plachy.

Guillou found little resistance at No. 4 singles cinching the team win for his team with a 6-0, 7-6 (7-5) win over Meg Siritaworachan.
