Mustangs fall to Texas A&M International on Senior Day

WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Freshman Mia Molina delivered a match-high 12 kills to lead to Texas A&M International to a 25-16, 25-15, 25-17 sweep of Midwestern State in Lone Star Conference play Saturday afternoon at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.

The Dustdevils (16-10, 7-6 LSC) snapped a three-match slide by hitting .252 as a team, taking control of all three sets.

TAMIU sophomore setter Emma Lade guided the attack by distributing 35 assists and helped out the back row with eight digs.

Senior outside hitter Ariana Guerra and fifth-year Hannah Thompson pitched in nine and seven digs, respectively.

Junior outside hitter Riley Rabedeaux put down eight kills and matched a season high with three total blocks to lead Midwestern State.

Senior Elise Smith also matched a campaign best with four total blocks, while sophomore libero Taygon Jones paced back row efforts with 17 digs.

Midwestern State celebrated seniors Elise Smith and Lauryn Bourne in its home finale.

The Mustangs close the season with road matches at Arkansas-Fort Smith on Friday and Oklahoma Christian on Saturday.

MSU dropped its eighth consecutive match to fall to 4-22 overall and to 1-13 in Lone Star Conference play.
