The Midwestern State women caught the attention of basketball fans with their performance during the Ashbrook Conference Challenge.
Zarria Carter scored 34 points and grabbed 18 rebounds in a 102-84 loss to Adams State. The Mustangs led that game entering the fourth quarter, 67-65. On Opening Day,
Kertisa Amos scored 16 points in 17 minutes and grabbed eight rebounds. Amos was plagued with foul trouble in an 83-65 loss to UC Colorado Springs. The Mustangs are preparing for their first regular season road trip as they visit Southeastern Oklahoma at 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
