WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State's
Ritse Vaes earned his second Lone Star Conference Special Teams Player of the Week honor Monday afternoon.
The junior kicker from Wichita Falls matched his own school record by connecting on four field goals in Midwestern State's 33-6 win over Western Oregon on Saturday.
Vaes was successful from 45, 32, and 37 yards out in the first half, then drilled a 22-yarder in the fourth quarter.
He also successfully converted each of his three point-after attempts to finish the game with 18 points.
Vaes previously connected on four field goals in a 36-30 win over UT Permian Basin in the 2021 season finale.
This is Vaes' fifth career LSC weekly honor and second of the season after garnering accolades on Sept. 25 after connecting on a 54-yard game winning field goal against Eastern New Mexico.
Midwestern State hosts Western New Mexico for Homecoming Saturday night at Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
