SAN ANGELO, Texas – Angelo State's Sawyer Lloyd scored 20 points and made six steals to lead the Rambelles at both ends of the floor in an 85-65 win over Midwestern State Thursday night at Junell Center/Stephens Arena.
The 'Belles rode their eighth consecutive win to improve to 14-2 on the season, while moving to 9-1 in Lone Star Conference play.

Angelo State outscored the Mustangs 16-2 over a 5:11 stretch in the second period to break open a close game.
The Rambelles led by as many as 23 points in the second half.

- MSU junior
Natalie Stice matched a season high by burying four 3-pointers on her way to a game-high 20 points. It was her third 20-point effort of the season.
- Senior guard
Markayla Johnson scored a career-high 13 points going 5-for-7 from the floor with a 3-pointer. The Huntsville native added two rebound and two steals.
- MSU freshman
Dyamon Griggs finished with eight points and six rebounds in 22 minutes.
- Angelo State junior Sawyer Lloyd matched Stice for game-high honors with 20 points. It was her fifth 20-point performance of the season. The Wall, Texas native also matched a season high with six steals.
- ASU sophomore Madeline Stephens extended her run of double-figure scoring game finishing with 17 points and seven rebounds before fouling out in 29 minutes.
- ASU junior forward Tayjanna McGhee-Pleasant contributed 14 points, eight rebounds, and four steals in 30 minutes. The transfer from Wayland Baptist has scored in double figures in 15 of her 16 games this season.

- Midwestern State dropped its sixth consecutive road game to fall to 4-12 on the season and 2-8 in Lone Star Conference play.
- The Mustangs fell to 3-18 all-time at Junell Center/Stephens Arena. MSU has lost the last four dating back to a 73-64 win on Dec. 7, 2017.
- Angelo State outrebounded the Mustangs 45-33 which is only second time this season that MSU lost the battle of the boards by 10 or more.
- Angelo State delivered its second highest scoring output of the season with 85 points.
- The Rambelles extended their winning streak to eight games. Angelo State improved to 7-0 at Junell Center this season and have won the last eight games on their home floor dating back to an 89-86 win over No. 4 Texas A&M-Commerce on Feb. 24, 2022.
