SERIES HISTORY | Midwestern State takes on Michigan Tech for the first time in any sport.
MSU AGAINST THE GLIAC | Midwestern State plays its first regular season game against a member of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponents Saturday night at Memorial Stadium. It will be the second time the Mustangs lineup against a team from the GLIAC, however. MSU lost 65-34 to Ferris State (Mich.) in the opening round of the 2016 NCAA Division II Playoffs.

Dylon Davis jumped a crossing route to score on a 43-yard interception return early in the fourth quarter to spin momentum and lead Midwestern State to a 28-14 win Saturday at Eastern New Mexico. "HOUGH"-ING AND PUFFING | The forecasted high temperature on Saturday is 98 degrees and remaining in the 90s up to kickoff time. The forecast high matches the highest temperature recorded this year in Houghton, Michigan -- the home of Michigan Tech University. The 98-degree day was recorded on June 20 and was the only day the temperature reached the 90-degree mark this year.Â
THE DEAN OF THE LSC | Bill Maskill became the first six-time Lone Star Conference Coach of the Year while leading the Mustangs to their fifth league title. Maskill's 164 career coaching victories are the fourth most by active NCAA Division II head coach and ninth most amongst all active NCAA football coaches. His 151 wins as a head coach at a Lone Star Conference institution are the second most in league history. Ron Harms won 172 games at Texas A&M-Kingsville in 21 seasons from 1979-99.
MAROON SEPTEMBER | Midwestern State owns a 62-11 mark in games played in September since the start of the
Bill Maskill era in 2002. The Mustangs are 26-2 in September games since the start of the 2014 season with losses coming at Angelo State in 2019 and in last week's season opener against Colorado State-Pueblo.
MUSTANGS IN NON-CONFERENCE TILTS | Midwestern State is 24-4 against non-conference NCAA Division II opponents during the regular season since the start of the 2002 campaign. The Mustangs had a 22-game winning streak against non-LSC foes snapped at Western Oregon in 2019, then fell at Central Washington last season, and in the season opener against Colorado State-Pueblo. The only other non-league loss came at Nebraska-Omaha in 2002.
HOME SWEET HOME | Midwestern State has owned Joe Golding Field by posting an 83-19 record (.814) during the
Bill Maskill era (since 2002). The Mustangs had a seven-game home field winning streak snapped in the season opener against Colorado State-Pueblo. MSU is 28-5 since the start of the 2015 campaign.
MUSTANGS TRACKS | Midwestern State leads NCAA Division II with two defensive touchdowns this season including a 63-yard interception return by
Justin Guillory against Colorado State-Pueblo and a 43-yard interception return for a score against Eastern New Mexico...
