earned All-Lone Star Conference second-team honors... competed in all of MSU's 10 games making nine starts at cornerback... ranked fourth on the team with 46 tackles with 30 solo stops and 1.5 tackles for loss... posted a team-best five interceptions and broke up six passes for 11 total passes defensed... returned three interceptions for touchdowns... ranked second in the LSC and 14th in NCAA Division II with 0.5 interceptions per game... was second in the LSC and 39th in NCAA Division II with 1.1 pass defenses per game... his five interceptions matched the third most in a single season for an MSU player... amassed 146 yards on five interception returns for the fourth most in a single season in program history... became first player in program history to return three interceptions for a touchdown in a career and, obviously, in one season... earned LSC Defensive Player of the Week honors with nine tackles, a forced fumble and a 70-yard interception return for a touchdown to help MSU rally from 23 points down to beat rival Texas A&M-Commerce 31-30 at the former Ballpark in Arlington (9/11)... the 70-yard return stands as the seventh longest interception return in program history... garnered a second LSC Defensive Player of the Week honor after making five tackles and returning an interception for a 54-yard touchdown to help MSU clinch an outright LSC title with a 36-30 win over UT Permian Basin in the season finale (11/13)... also returned an interception for a 22-yard touchdown in a season opening 48-27 win at Quincy (9/4)... also recorded interceptions against Texas A&M-Kingsville (10/9) and Western New Mexico (10/30)... matched a season high with nine tackles at West Texas A&M (11/6)...

At Cooper High School
a three-year letter winner for coach Aaron Roan at Abilene Cooper High School... helped Cougars to three consecutive UIL playoff appearances advancing to the regional semifinals during senior campaign in 2019... enjoyed a storybook senior season in 2019 leading the State of Texas and setting a school record with 16 interceptions... named Class 5A Defensive Player of the Year by both the Associated Press Sports Editors (APSE) and Texas Sportswriters' Association (TSWA)... a member of the Whataburger/Dave Campbell's Texas Football Super Team.... among 25 semifinalists in the entire state for Texas Mr. Football... Big Country Homepage Defensive Player of the Year... District 2-5A Defensive Player of the Year... amassed 12 interceptions during the regular season and added four during the Cougars' playoff run... returned four of the 16 interceptions for touchdowns... finished senior campaign with 80 tackles, 18 pass breakups, three fumble recoveries, four forced fumbles and one blocked field goal... also made three interceptions as a junior and one as a sophomore to set a Cooper High record with 19 career interceptions... got in on the offensive side as a senior making five receptions for 82 yards with a touchdown... competed on three relay teams in track & field advancing to the Region I-5A meet to finish fifth in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:26.25... a member of the student council and National Honor Society...
