Midwestern State pushes Pirates off the plank for fourth straight win

GEORGETOWN, Texas -- Midwestern State grabbed their fourth consecutive win on Saturday by beating Southwestern (Texas). The No. 38 Mustangs bested the Pirates 6-3 on the road. MSU is 14-6 for season with one match left.
 
Alex Martinez Roca and Ben Westwick defeated Jared Burton Hemanshu Rambojun by 8-2. The third-ranked duo are 17-1 for the 2022 season at doubles line one.
 
Quentin Scharfenberg and Stephen Slocombe won their first match as a pair. They beat Oscar Roy and Carlos Rodero 8-3 at line three.
 
Westwick claimed a 6-0, 6-1 against Steven Tibbetts at line three. This is sixth win at line three in 2022.
 
Marcal Miret Avante secured a 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 win over Roy at line three. He has a 14-3 tally for the spring season.
 
Charles Heffernan beat Travis Rafferty by a 6-0, 6-2 score at line five. The junior has a 12-6 record for the season.
 
Stefan Andrei posted a 6-2, 6-0 win against Jared Buton. The freshman is 8-1 at line six for the year.
 
Midwestern State hosts Dallas Baptist in their final match of the regular season. The Lone Star Conference foes face off on Saturday, April 23, at MSU Tennis Center. The first serve is set for 11 a.m.
