SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- In MSU's 6-1 road loss to St. Mary's,
Emilija Visic won her doubles and singles match. The sophomore helped the 28th-ranked Mustangs gather one point versus the 46th-ranked Rattlers.
Midwestern State is now 5-3 in Lone Star Conference play while StMU has a 6-1 tally in the league.
Visic and
Casie Curry won their sixth consecutive match at line two. The duo defeated Ashley Penshorn and Alice Thane 7-6 (7-3) to put the Rattler pair at a 2-1 record. Visic and Curry are 17-2 for the year and have a 7-1 record in the LSC.
Visic secured a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Marina Vigil at line four. She snapped Vigil's three-match streak and handed the fifth-year senior her first loss at line four. Visic landed a 17-2 singles record and a 5-1 tally at line four this season.
Curry lost her first line two match to Angela Vargas while
Anda Ghinga recorded her fifth straight loss at line one.
Skylar Minns' three-match streak was cut by Thane at line five.
Midwestern State hosts Dallas Baptist in the final match of the regular season. The two Lone Star teams face each other at MSU Tennis Center on Saturday, April 23. The first serve is set for 2 p.m.
