WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State fell in Tuesday's home Lone Star Conference match to No. 6 Cameron. The Aggies bested the 43rd-ranked Mustangs 4-3 at MSU Tennis Center.
Casie Curry secured her third line two victory and has five successive doubles wins.
MSU moves to a 5-2 LSC record and 18-6 for the season. CU holds a 5-1 league tally, going 15-3 in the year.
Curry and
Emilija Visic tallied their fifth consecutive win at doubles line two. The 45th-ranked duo's 6-3 score earned them a 16-2 record for the season. Curry and Visic are 6-1 in LSC play.
Anda Ghinga and
Hannah Yip suffered their first loss of the season to No. 18 Anastasia Uspenskaia and Magda Wawrowska. The 24th-ranked Mustangs are 18-1 at line one after the drop.
Curry's three-set win over Uspenskaia snapped the Aggie's 13-match win streak. The MSU junior has three consecutive wins, all at line two. Curry moves to a 6-1 tally in Lone Star Conference matches and 17-4 for the spring season.
Skylar Minns also recorded her third straight win, taking straight sets over Wawrowska. The sophomore is undefeated at line five thus far. Minns claimed her 16th W of the year in Tuesday's match.
Kyndall Quiroz cemented her first line six win to finish the match for MSU. The sophomore tallied her second three-set victory of the season to move to a 4-3 record.
Midwestern State heads to San Antonio, Texas, for their last Lone Star Conference road match. The 43rd-ranked Mustangs and the 53rd-ranked Rattlers face off on Friday, April 15. The first serve is set for 10 a.m. at Rohrbach Stadium Tennis Complex.
