PORTALES, N.M. -- Midwestern State erupted for 19 runs to earn a doubleheader split Sunday afternoon at Eastern New Mexico.
The Mustangs piled up 14 hits highlightes by three home runs to roll to an 11-1 win in five inning in Game 2, after falling 8-7 in opener that ended when
Maddy Holder's line drive up the box was snared by ENMU's pitcher with the bases loaded in the seventh inning.
Holder enjoyed a career day combining to to 4-for-7 for the double a double, triple and two home runs.
She connected for a three-run shot in the second inning of Game 1 to give the Mustangs a 4-2 lead, then added an RBi triple and came around to score when
Maci Sanders singled up the middle to cut Eastern New Mexico's lead to 8-6 in the sixth inning.
Bailey Brenek, who extended her career best hitting streak to 10 games, led off the seventh inning with a homer over the center field fence to cut the deficit to one run.

Daylan Inkman delivered consecutive singles before
Paige Bryant drew a walk to load the bases.
Holder hit the ball on the screws straight up the middle, but ENMU freshman Jordan Bowman snared the ball to preserve the win for the Greyhounds.
Midwestern State jumped on the Greyhounds from the start of Game 2. Dominguez highlighted a four-run first inning with a three-run blast to left field.
Senior
Payton Griffin connected on a solo homer to center field as a part of a two-run third inning as MSU pushed the advantage to a 6-0.
ENMU freshman Lisette Urquidez led off the bottom of the third with a solo shot to center field to account for the 'Hounds lone score of the game.
MSU sophomore
Kennedy Cameron improved to 5-11 in the circle permitting one run on four hits. The Longview registered eight strikeouts and walked two.
Brenek's two-run single to center field pushed the MSU to 8-1, then Holder cranked a two-run blast to left-field as part of a three-run fifth inning to ice the win for the Mustangs.
Midwestern State improved to 7-32 on the season and 6-18 in league play, while the Greyhounds dropped to 13-27 and 6-18.
Midwestern State enjoys a 12-day break before playing host to Texas A&M-Kingsville in a Lone Star Conference doubleheader on Friday, April 22 at Mustangs Park. First pitches are set for 3 and 5 p.m.
