KINGSVILLE, Texas -- Midwestern State battled their way to a 4-3 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville on Friday afternoon.
Casie Curry secured her 100th career victory in the Lone Star Conference match.
Scott Linn notched his 200th win as MSU Texas Women's Tennis head coach.
The Mustangs move to a 16-4 record and the Javelinas drop to 6-8 for the season.
MSU swept all three doubles matches to take the early lead. Curry and
Emilija Visic tallied a 6-1 win over Noemi Sante and Milou ter Morsche.
Skylar Minns and
Sydney Williams continued their ten-match streak by knocking off Manuela Turolo and Alessa Maier at line three.
Anda Ghinga and
Hannah Yip followed with their 14th consecutive win to maintain their undefeated streak.
In singles competition, Midwestern State won three-of-six contests.
Ghinga and Curry tallied victories in straight sets at lines one and four. Ghinga is 13-5 for the season while Curry rides a ten-match win streak. Minns clinched the match with her three-set victory over Turlolo at line six. The sophomore won her last three matches to control a 3-0 Lone Star Conference record.
Visic took her first loss of the year to ter Morsche, which snapped her streak at 13 matches.
MSU finishes out the Lone Star Conference weekend at Angelo State tomorrow. The Mustangs and the Rambelles face off at noon in San Anglo, Texas.
