No. 33 MSU falls 4-3 in LSC battle at Angelo State

SAN ANGELO, Texas -- The line six battle was the decider in Midwestern State's Lone Star Conference battle with Angelo State. In the end, the Rambelles knocked off the No. 33 Mustangs by 4-3 at the ASU Tennis Courts.

MSU owns a 16-5 record for the season while ASU moves to 10-5.


Midwestern State secured two of the three doubles matches to open the scoring against the Rambelles
. No. 28 Anda Ghinga and Hannah Yip kept their undefeated record at 16-0 with their victory at line one. No. 44 Emilija Visic and Casie Curry turned in their second consecutive win at line two.

The Mustangs won two-of-six singles contests.


Ethne Dowling broke her slump with a 6-2, 6-1 victory versus Ayda Guler at line four. The junior has seven wins for the season. Visic secured MSU's third point of the match. She defeated Ramitha Irrinki 6-2, 6-4 at line five.

Skylar Minns and Alex Vishnevskaya fought to clinch the match for their respective teams
. Ultimately, Vishnevskaya took the three-set win to secure the victory for the Rambelles.

ASU's Eva Scharwtz snapped Curry's ten-match win streak on Saturday.


Midwestern State returns to Wichita Falls on Friday, April 8, to battle No. 43 Northwest Missouri State. The Mustangs and the Bearcats face off at 10 a.m. at MSU Tennis Center.
