LAWTON, Okla. -- Midwestern State and Cameron resume the Red River Rivalry in a Lone Star Conference doubleheader Sunday afternoon at McMahon Field. First pitches are set for 1 and 3 p.m.

Midwestern State is tied for 11th in the Lone Star Conference standings with a 4-10 league record... The Mustangs completed a stretch of three doubleheaders against nationally ranked opponents Friday at No. 23 Oklahoma Christian... The six-game stretch also featured twin bills against No. 20 Texas A&M-Commerce and No. 1 UT Tyler... MSU is 0-12 when facing teams ranked in the NFCA Division II  Top 25 this season and has lost 18 straight against ranked opponents dating back to a 7-5 win over No. 2-ranked UT Tyler on March 8, 2020 in its last game before the remainder of the 2020 campaign was called due to the coronavirus pandemic... Freshman Mikey Dominguez hit .387 (12-for-31) with a double, a triple, four homers and 10 RBIs during a 10-game stretch from March 4-18... Dominguez posted five two-hit games during the stretch connecting for four home runs... Dominguez smashed her fifth home run of the season during Game 1 Friday at Oklahoma Christian...

HEAD COACH BRITTANIE TALLEY is in her first season at the helm of the Midwestern State program. Talley amassed a 129-75 record (.632) over the past five seasons at Vernon College including a 42-12 run while leading Chaps to the 2021 NJCAA regional tournament. That came on the heels of a 21-1 start in 2020 before the season was cut short by the pandemic. Prior to Vernon College, Talley played a role in a successful three-year run at Alabama State helping the Lady Hornets to a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) title and a trip to the NCAA Division I regionals in 2016. She competed professionally for the Skovde Saints winning the Swedish championship as the league's pitcher of the year in 2011. She enjoyed a standout collegiate career at Jackson State where she earned second-team All-SWAC honors earning 27 career wins while posting seven shutouts. She also hit .320 in 172 career at bats.

Cameron is ninth in the Lone Star Conference standings with a 6-8 league record... The Aggies have split their last four Lone Star Conference doubleheaders against Texas A&M International, St. Mary's, St. Edward's and Texas Woman's... Cameron ranks 10th in the LSC in hitting (.295 team batting average), 10th in pitching (3.74 team ERA) and 11th in fielding (.956 fielding percentage)... During Lone Star Conference play, the Aggies rank ninth in the league in hitting (.284), sixth in pitching (3.71) and sixth in fielding (.957)... ABOUT THE SERIES

Midwestern State and Cameron meet for the 64th and 65th times on the diamond Sunday afternoon at McMahon Field. The Mustangs own a 37-26 lead in the series which dates back to the 2004 season. The teams split a twin bill last season at Mustangs Park and have not played in Lawton since MSU won two of three on March 16-17, 2018. MSU and Cameron have split the previous 26 games of the series played in Lawton.
