Ashley Turner ranks 25th in the LSC with a .408 batting average... Turner also ranks 19th in the LSC in slugging percentage at .732... Turner had a season-best eight-game hitting streak snapped in Game 1 against St. Mary's... During the streak, Turner hit .467 (14-of-30) with three doubles, three homers and eight RBIs... HEAD COACH BRITTANIE TALLEY is in her first season at the helm of the Midwestern State program. Talley amassed a 129-75 record (.632) over the past five seasons at Vernon College including a 42-12 run while leading Chaps to the 2021 NJCAA regional tournament. That came on the heels of a 21-1 start in 2020 before the season was cut short by the pandemic. Prior to Vernon College, Talley played a role in a successful three-year run at Alabama State helping the Lady Hornets to a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) title and a trip to the NCAA Division I regionals in 2016. She competed professionally for the Skovde Saints winning the Swedish championship as the league's pitcher of the year in 2011. She enjoyed a standout collegiate career at Jackson State where she earned second-team All-SWAC honors earning 27 career wins while posting seven shutouts. She also hit .320 in 172 career at bats.

Embry-Riddle sports an 8-6 record including two losses to current No. 3-ranked Valdosta State and another to No. 17 Auburn-Montgomery... The Eagles rank seventh in the Sunshine State Conference in pitching (2.71 team ERA), 10th in batting (.224 team average) and 11th in fielding (0.925 fielding percentage)... Senior Kelsi Collins is 5-3 in the circle with a 2.29 ERA allowing 18 earned runs and 44 hits in 55 innings... Collins ranks second in the SSC with 50 strikeouts while holding the opposition to a .204 batting average... Collins has posted 32 strikeouts over her last 27 innings covering four starts... Freshman Mallory Kinahan is 3-3 with a 2.50 ERA allowing 13 earned runs on 29 hits in 36 1/3 innings... Kinahan has limited the opposition to a .201 batting average and posted consecutive shutouts against Rollins (2/19) and Nova Southeastern (2/26)... Sophomore Mahaliyah Sandridge leads ERAU with a .375 average with three doubles, a triple, a home run and eight RBIs... Sandridge had consecutive two-hit performance in the Eagles' doubleheader against Palm Beach Atlantic (3/5) including the club's only home run of the season... ABOUT THE SERIES
Midwestern State and Embry-Riddle meet for the first and second time on the diamond Tuesday afternoon at Mustangs Park. MSU has faced six other opponents from the Sunshine State Conference in its history and is a combined 4-5 including games against Barry (1-0), Eckerd (0-1), Nova Southeastern (1-0), Palm Beach Atlantic (1-1), Saint Leo (0-1) and Tampa (1-2). The Mustangs played Eckerd, Nova Southeastern, Palm Beach Atlantic, Saint Leo and Tampa as part of the Eckerd Triton Classic in Clearwater during the 2008 season.
