WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State took NJCAA No. 1-ranked Tyler Junior College to the brink before falling 4-3 Friday afternoon at the MSU Tennis Center.
The Mustangs fell to 1-1, while TJC improved to 2-3 on the season.
TURNING POINT
Tyler Junior College's Mikaeel Woodman clinched the win for the Apaches by winning the final match off of the courts.
Woodman defeated Midwestern State freshman
Matthew Abbey in straight sets -- 6-2, 6-2.

Alex Martinez Roca moved into sole possession of 12th place on MSU's all-time combined wins list with 104. The senior turned the tables on Tim Riedel to take a 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 Singles. It was Martinez Roca's 59th collegiate singles victory and 11th at No. 1.

Marcal Miret Avante won his collegiate duels singles debut beating TJC's Mika Fisher 6-0, 6-2 at No. 5 Singles.

Brice Bradshaw combined with freshman
Stefan Andrei to clinch the doubles' point for Midwestern State beating Tim Riedel and Mika Fisher in a tiebreaker.
- Midwestern State improved to 5-1 overall in doubles this season. The Mustangs are a combined 8-4 in singles play during the duel season.
