FORT SMITH, Ark. – The Mustangs bounce back after a loss on Friday to Cameron by gaining a 5-2 win over Arkansas-Fort Smith. This counts for Midwestern State's second Lone Star Conference tally in the win column this season.
Alex Martinez Roca and
Alexandre Crepy redeemed after the doubles loss at Cameron to overtake Wian Van Dyk and Zach Delmonico 6-2.
Quentin Scharfenberg and
Brice Bradshaw followed up with a 6-3 win over Andrew Anderson and Ethan Eddleman. The pair won two straight matches together to gain the doubles point for MSU.
The final doubles set could not complete the trifecta as

Still, the Mustangs led 1-0 with singles play starting.

Crepy gained the third point at the second singles spot. Borrero fell by a score of 6-4, 6-1.
The Lions made their first point of the match with a win at number four singles. Venkatachalam fell 2-6, 7-5 for his first singles loss of the year. The score now sat at 3-1 with the Mustangs ahead.
UAFS drew another point with Balbontin's 6-4, 6-3 win over Bradshaw. This was the freshman's first match at the third singles spot for MSU. The visitors now only led by one point with two more two finish.
