DALLAS, Texas -- After collecting a huge victory against No. 24 St. Mary's on Wednesday, No. 7 Midwestern State (13-1, 5-0 LSC) remains the only unbeaten team in the Lone Star Conference. MSU heads to Dallas Baptist (5-5, 2-3 LSC) for their last LSC showdown of the week. The Mustangs and the Patriots face-off on Saturday, Oct. 30 at Patriot Soccer Field. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m.

Trevor Amann has recorded a goal or an assist in the last eight matches, including the opening goal in the Mustangs' 2-1 battle against No. 24 St. Mary's (10/27). The senior leads Midwestern State with 28 points (1.93 ppg) to lead the Lone Star Conference. Amann's 12 goals (0.857 avg/g) and four game-winners sit atop the conference as well. In addition, the forward launched a LSC best 65 shots (4.64 avg/g) and 29 shots on goal (2.07 avg/g) to hit a 0.446 shot on goal percent. Amann is just five goals, one game-winner, 12 points, ten shots and nine shots on goal away from scratching his name in the MSU record books in each season category. He does gain a place in the career shots attempted section, sitting equal with Dan Schoen's 140 shots from 1992-94. Amann is one shot on goal away from reaching David Freeland's record of 66 from 2008-12. For his career, the Westminster, Colo., native accumulated 24 goals and 9 assists for 57 points. In addition, he notched six game-winners in 2,792 minutes.
Emmanuel Loni is first for Dallas Baptist with five goals and ten points on the season. The senior controlled 19 shots with nine landing on frame for a 0.474 shot on goal percent. In ten appearances and three starts, Loni totaled 597 minutes.

Julian Barajas is the leading assister for MSU and the Lone Star Conference, tallying seven helpers in 14 appearances. The midfielder's average of 0.500 also tops the conference and team. Barajas adds four goals to total 15 points, a sixth best sitting in the LSC. His average of 1.07 points per game earns an eighth place ranking. Barajas has at least one point in the last seven matches, including an assist against No. 24 St. Mary's (10/27). The senior put up 15 shots with six falling on frame for a 0.400 shot on goal percent. In his four year career at Midwestern State, Barajas earned 15 goals and 17 assists for 47 points in 79 appearances. The Fort Worth, Texas native claimed 97 attempts with 43 shots on goal in 29 starts. He adds six game winners in 3,874 minutes.
Ethan Unger notched four assists to lead the Patriots while adding two goals for eight points. The junior collected 20 shots with nine going on goal for a 0.450 shot on goal percent. In ten starts and 908 minutes, the midfielder popped two game winning goals.

Marc-Antoine Huzen has 14 starts with 1,276 minutes between the posts. Overall, Huzen collects a LSC second best 0.917 goals against average and fourth best 13 goals against. The keeper notched 34 saves to rank fifth in the conference while leading with seven shutouts. Huzen faced 123 shots and recorded a 0.723 save percent to sit second in the LSC. He faced a season-high 21 shots against Oklahoma Christian (10/09) and made a season-high five saves versus Northeastern State (9/09). The goalkeeper is 13-1 on the season and 19-2-1 in his Mustangs career. In three years, the Parisian accumulated 46 saves versus 144 shots for a 0.730 save percent. His overall goals against average records at 0.78 while he maintains 12 shutouts.
Alexander Knepper started all ten matches for DBU, totaling 929 minutes. The senior has 40 saves on 139 shots attempted for a 0.714 save percent. Knepper allowed 16 goals to gain a 1.55 GAA with one shutout.
4 |  The Mustangs have collected a 13-1 season, gaining a 0.929 winning percent. This is the best winning percentage for Midwestern State since the 2017 season when the team completed the 18 match regular season without a loss. That year, the team went 18-0-2 in the regular season with a 12-0-2 record in the Heartland Conference. MSU added two more wins in their run to the Heartland Conference Championship where they lifted the trophy after a 1-0 win over St. Edward's. The Mustangs then went on to take the first two matches of the NCAA Division II South Central Regional to land a berth to the national tournament. In the quarterfinal round, MSU dropped in overtime to Cal Poly Pomona.

HEAD COACH MICHAEL MEACHUM is in the midst of his fourth season as head coach at Midwestern State and his 10th overall in Wichita Falls. He served the first seven years as top assistant for Doug Elder. During that time, Meachum helped the Mustangs reach two NCAA Division II South Central Region finals and to the national quarterfinals. Meachum boasts a 52-10-4 record (.818) since taking the reins of the program prior to the 2018 season. He has led the Mustangs to the 2018 Heartland Conference title, the 2019 Lone Star Conference postseason tournament crown and to two NCAA Division II postseason appearances in 2018 and 2019. Prior to MSU, Meachum served as an assistant at NAIA Bethany College (Kan.) and Hastings (Neb.), at Division I Oral Roberts and Division II Northeastern State.

In 21 meet-ups with Dallas Baptist, Midwestern State stands undefeated with a 19-0-2 record in 47 years of play. The Patriots gained the draw in 1974 and 2014 to end a 12 match losing streak between. Since 2014, the Mustangs have six straight victories, including a 6-0 W in the 2020 season. Amann bagged a brace in the slaughter while Barajas, Carlos Flores, Rory O'Keeffe and Adam Conway each collected a goal each.
