WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Taylor Anderson paced Midwestern State with eight kills in the team's three set drop to No. 25 West Texas A&M () on Friday night. After the Friday night match, the Mustangs tally a 3-16 overall record and go 1-10 in Lone Star Conference play. MSU also extends their losing streak to 10 games.
"WT is a solid team and they are ranked for a reason," said Head Coach
Valerie Armstrong. "We can't control injuries, etc. but we can improve our talk and effort for the rest of the season."
Anderson was the only Mustang with a positive hitting percent, shooting at 0.333. She also gained her third straight match with eight kills, donning the feat against UT Permian Basin (10/14) and Western New Mexico (10/16). In total, the senior completed 111 kills in 3120 attack attempts on the year. She adds two blocks to her stats to register 41 stops overall.

Alex Serna each punched four kills each in the battle against WT. Serna added two blocks to earn 5.5 points on the night.
Amy DeWalt impressed on the back line with ten digs versus the 0.277 hitting Lady Buffs. The freshman defensive specialist continues to top MSU with 270 digs total. Friday's match was her 14th game with double digit passes.
Regan Willms collected 11 assists to reach 252 on the season. The freshman notched her first collegiate block assist and made three digs.Â
Camy Jones lead both teams with nine kills and ten points. The freshman inched a 0.353 hitting percent versus the Mustangs. Abi Nash and Torrey Miller followed up with eight kills each for ten and 9.5 points respectively. Nash took two service aces while Miller recorded three block assists.
Marjani Stanfill was the top blocker for the night, giving five assists to West Texas A&M. 2020 LSC Libero of the Year, Chandler Vogel, made 13 digs. Mere Nagase was close behind with ten and added 18 assists.
Midwestern State finishes off the weekend with a rematch against Eastern New Mexico at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. The Mustangs and Greyhounds face-off in the Lone Star Conference draw on Saturday, Oct. 23. First serve is set for noon in Wichita Falls, Texas.
