WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Mackenzie Taylor gives Midwestern State yet another imposing inside presence. The 6-foot Australian is the latest addition to the 2020 signing class.
Â
"Mackenzie has great footwork, the ability to finish around the rim, and a nice shooting touch from the outside," MSU Texas Interim Head Coach
Christopher Reay said. "We are very excited to add her to our Mustangs family."
Taylor attended Willetton Senior High School in Perth, Australia and competed with the Cockburn Cougars, a State Basketball League (SBL) club in Perth. She has experience stateside, having spent two summers playing for AUSA Hoops, a basketball camp organization that helps Australians pursue academic and athletic opportunities in America.Â
"Her experience playing summer basketball in the United States will allow her to hit the ground running," Reay said.Â
Taylor was selected three times to represent Western Australia at the School Sports Championships, the highest level of Australian school basketball competition and was the 2018 Western Australian Basketball League (WABL) MVP.Â
She joins a deep signing class for the Mustangs, which includes Brittney Fields, Kenshawnna Reed, and Maya Kendall.
