ABILENE, Texas - The Mustangs collected a 7-0 win over Hardin-Simmons (Texas) on Saturday afternoon at the Seidel-Swagerty Tennis Center. 

"Players stepped up in tough spots," MSU Texas head coach Scott Linn said. "Down at number two doubles and number three singles and came back."

Alexandre Crepy/Abhiram Venkatachalam battled back from an early deficit to clip Josh Lopez/Desmond O'Shea 7-5 before the top duo of Angel Palacios/Alberto Diaz sealed the doubles point for the Mustangs with a 7-5 victory of their own over Nathaniel Schoendorf/Holt Fields.

In singles action, Brice Bradshaw earned his second win of the day with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at number six and Abhiram Venkatachalam cruised to a 6-2, 7-5 win on the number four line. At No. 5, Jean Muniz made it 2-for-2 on the day and gave the Mustangs a 4-0 edge with a two set win of his own. 

"Great energy and determination by (Jean) Muniz and (Brice) Bradshaw all day," Linn said. 

Alexandre Crepy fought back after dropping the first set to outlast Desmond O'Shea at No. 3 6-7, 6-3 1-0 (10-6). 

Leading 5-0, No. 5 Angel Palacios routed Nathaniel Schoendorf 6-2, 6-1. Alberto Diaz capped off the shutout with a hard fought, 6-2, 7-5 victory at No. 2. 

We started acting more like our program today," Linn said. "Everyone contributed on and off the court."
