SEARCY, Ark. – Midwestern State tries again for their first win of the season when they take on Drury (Mo.) and Delta State (Miss.) on Saturday as part of the Harding Invitational. First pitches are slated for 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY
MSU Texas has never lost to either of the teams they will face on Saturday. The Mustangs are 1-0 against Drury, collecting a 5-0 win in Wichita Falls in 2011 and 2-0 against Delta State, posting 6-5 and 10-0 victories in 2005 and 2011 respectively.

WILLIAMS WOWS IN SEARCY
Anna Williams smacked her first home run of the season and drove in three in Friday afternoon's loss to Harding (Ark.). Williams' blast was Midwestern State's first long ball of the season. 

LINDGREN'S LIGHTING IT UP
Senior Lauren Lindgren is hitting a team-high .474 after posting back-to-back multi-hit games on Friday. The outfielder finished 2-for-4 against Northeastern State (Okla.) before posting her first three-hit game of the season against Harding (Ark.). 

TROUBLE ON THE MOUND
Midwestern State pitchers have compiled a 7.07 ERA throught the first five games of the season. Mustangs pitchers have surrendered 35 runs (32 earned) in 31.1 innings.

HISTORY IN THE YELLOWHAMMER STATE
Midwestern State's 33 hits at the season opening Gulf Shores Invitational is the most hits in a season's first three games in the 17-year history of the program. The previous high was 32 hits, set back during the 2016 season. 

SCOUTING THE FIELD
Drury (Mo.) has not played since a 1-2 showing at the Gulf Shores Invitational last weekend. The Panthers blanked Union (Tenn.) 1-0 before losing to No. 16 North Georgia and Rollins College (Fla.). Abby McAteer finished 5-for-9 while Jacy Ummel went 4-for-10. 

Like the Panthers, Delta State (Miss.) has not played since February 2. The Lady Statesmen finished 1-3 in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Callie Newman and Olivia Dick each knocked home three runs in the season opening tournament while posting batting averages of .400 or better. 
 
CATCHING UP WITH COACH RYAL
Mark Ryal begins his fourth season as head coach after serving in an interim capacity in 2017. Last season, Ryal guided the Mustangs to a 22-19 (13-17) record. The 22 wins marked the program's highest total since the 2016 season. Overall, the Dewar, Oklahoma native has compiled a 56-72 (32-58) record during his time in Wichita Falls.
