PLANO, Texas – No. 15 Midwestern State (1-0) rolled to a season opening 7-0 win over Collin College (0-1) on Saturday afternoon at the Collin College Tennis Courts.

"Really good team effort," MSU Texas Head Coach Scott Linn said. "Returners playing different spots in singles and doubles from last year all owned their spots. Much more commitment to what we do each day in practice in singles and doubles."

Taylor Gray/Emily Ineson kicked off the morning with a 6-0 win over Mariah Gonzalez/Rebekah Clark moments before Juliette Mary/Emilija Segetlija cruised to a 6-0 win over Kristina McDermott/Paula Acosta.

The MSU Texas pair of Emilija Visic/Ashley Ramirez knocked off Lea Mjeratan/Lily Hostetter, 6-0, to complete the sweep.

The Mustangs carried the momentum over to singles play, winning all six matches in straight sets. 

Mary defeated Acosta 6-0, 6-0, before Ramirez took down McDermott 6-2, 6-1 to give the Mustangs a 3-0 edge. 

Casie Curry, ranked No. 43 in singles, blasted Mjeratan 6-1, 6-1. Segetlija kept the line moving with a 6-0, 6-0 destruction of Gonzalez. 

Lea Cizeron was leading Cameron Ward 6-0, 4-3 before Ward injury defaulted. Visic capped off the match with a 6-3, 6-3 triumph over Hostetter.
