Late goal the difference in conference opening loss

DENTON, Texas - An 85th minute goal doomed Midwestern State (1-4-1, 0-1) in a 1-0 loss to Texas Woman's University (5-1-0, 0-1) in the Lone Star Conference opener on Thursday night at Pioneer Field.

"I thought we played a good match," said Head Coach Ryan Spence. "The consistency was good and the energy level was up. It's tough to come up short after a battle like that."

Abigail Martinez netted the game winner, finishing a feed from Riley Sutton. The goal was Martinez's first of the season.
