AUSTIN, Texas – Adam Conway broke a scoreless game early in the second half, and Midwestern State (4-0-0) never looked back, adding two more goals in the half to rout St. Edward's University (0-4-1), 3-0, on Thursday night at Lewis-Chen Family Field.
Conway's goal, his second of the season, came off a corner kick in the 49
th minute. The sophomore headed home a
Sebastian Venegas entry into the box to give the Mustangs a 1-0 lead.
Less than 20 minutes later, MSU Texas found the back of the net again when
Sergio Lara finished a beautiful find by
Carlos Flores.
Julian Barajas pushed the lead to 3-0 with a tally in the 80
th minute.
Ross Fitzpatrick was credited with an assist on the play.
Taylor Lampe, the reigning Lone Star Conference Goalkeeper of the Week made four saves to earn his third shutout of the season. The junior stands one shutout away from tying the program record of 21 set by Raul Herrera (2005, 2009-2010).
Each team had a player sent off. Izaac Zausch was shown a red card in the 75th minute and MSU's
Juan Ramirez was ejected following his second caution of the game in the 79th minute.
