TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – No. 11 Midwestern State used a strong second half surge to defeat Northeastern State, 2-0, on Wednesday night at DeLoache Field.
Scoreless after 45 minutes, MSU Texas struck for two goals in a seven minute span to grab a 2-0 lead.
Ross Fitzpatrick struck first off a feed from
Trevor Amann in the 57th minute before Amann netted a goal of his own in the 64th minute on a find from
Julian Barajas to give the Mustangs a 2-0 advantage.
Goalkeeper
Taylor Lampe made three saves to pick up his second clean sheet of the season. The junior stands just two shutouts away from tying the program record of 21 set by Raul Herrera (2005, 2009-2010). Lampe preserved the shutout with a penalty kick save in the 71st minute.
