WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS – Midwestern State surged to its third-straight win, downing No. 40 Dallas Baptist, 4-2, on Friday at the MSU Tennis Center. MSU Texas improves to 12-5 overall before this weekend's showdown with No. 34-ranked Texas A&M-Kingsville.
 
The Mustangs grabbed the doubles decision for the fourth time in the last five matches with a sweep in pairs play.
 
The tandem of Lea Cizeron and Juliette Mary swept Devon Austin-Canning and Ira Vogelmann, 6-0, at the No. 3 line before the duo of Ashley Ramirez and Bianca Duff upset 26th-ranked Claire Nguyen and Kate Daugherty, 6-4, at No. 1.
 
The pair of Greta Lazzarotto and Casie Curry picked up their fifth-straight win at the No. 2 flight, knocking off Adriana Carpenter and Taylor Leslie, 7-5. Lazzarotto pulled within a win of matching Lacey Wuthrich's career wins record of 138.
 
MSU Texas matched the Patriots win-for-win in singles to close out the match.
 
Duff regained the lead with a 7-6, 6-2 decision over Nguyen at the No. 1 line to put the Mustangs back on top 2-1.
 
Cizeron knocked off Carpenter in straight-sets, 6-2, 6-1, at the No. 3 line to regain the advantage, 3-2, before Mary clinched the win, topping Vogelmann, 6-3, 6-1, at the No. 5 flight.
