@MSUMustangs overmatch CSU-Pueblo

THE RUNDOWN
WICHITA FALLS, Texas – No. 14 Midwestern State proved too much for Colorado State-Pueblo in a 7-0 rout on Saturday at the MSU Tennis Center. The Mustangs continue the hot-start to open the season, improving to 5-0 for the fifth time in program history and first since the 2014 team started 8-0.

MSU made quick work of the Thunderwolves in doubles. CSUP played a man down and was unable to field a team at the No. 3 line to give the Mustangs the forfeit win.

Maddy Coffman and Casie Curry blasted Nia Matthews and Kali Hamilton, 6-1, at the No. 1 line before the duo of Bianca Duff and Greta Lazzarotto coasted to a 6-1 win over Emilty Sproston and Sarah Megilligan at No. 2.

Lazzarotto registered her 77th career doubles win, moving within one of Brooke Gray's program record of 78 set from 2000-03.

In singles, juniors Lea Cizeron and Juliette Mary collected a pair of dominant singles wins to clinch the match for the Mustangs.

Cizeron downed Hamilton, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 2 just seconds before Mary swept Megilligan, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 4 to secure the fifth-straight win for MSU Texas.

Lazzarotto topped Sproston, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 3 to remain unbeaten this spring

Curry earned a straight-set win against Katherine Ambrose, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 5 for her second win in as many days.

Duff erased a first set tiebreaker loss to Matthews, storming back for a 6-7 (3), 7-5, 10-4 win in a super-set tiebreaker to complete the sweep for the Maroon and Gold.
