Hannah Reynolds grabbed 20 rebounds as Midwestern State sent seniors

Anni Scholl off with a win in their final game at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. The Mustangs muscled their way to a 75-66 win against Texas A&M-Kingsville to close out the regular season.
Midwestern State improves to 12-15 overall and 9-11 in Lone Star Conference play. Earning the No. 6 seed in the LSC Postseason Tournament, the Maroon and Gold meet No. 3 seed Tarleton State at noon on Friday, March 8, at the Comerica Center in Frisco.
Reynolds logged her fourth double-double of the season, going for 13 points, 20 rebounds, two assists and six blocks. The Prosper native posted her third game this season with at least six blocks and owns three of the top six single-game blocking performances in team history.
Junior Liz Cathcart continued her hot-streak, pouring in a game-high 16 points on 8-of-11 shooting with three rebounds. The Spring Branch product finished in double-figures for the seventh-straight game.
The Reynolds/Cathcart duo combined to help the Mustangs to a 32-18 edge in the paint and a 44-38 advantage on the glass.
Playing in their final game under the Dome, Kizart and Scholl each left their mark on the contest. Kizart scored 12 points, going 7-of-8 from the charity stripe, while distributing a career-high eight assists. Scholl added a block and a key 3-pointer early in the contest to spark a run by MSU Texas.
After an 0-for-4 start from the floor, the Maroon and Gold shot 53 percent over the final 17 minutes of the first half to build a 38-28 lead at the break. Leading 31-28, MSU Texas closed the second quarter on a 7-0 run over the final two minutes to stretch the advantage to double figures.
Cathcart (10 points) and Reynolds (7 points, 10 rebounds, 3 blocks) combined for 17 and helped own an 18-10 advantage in the paint.
Leading 58-43 entering the fourth quarter, the Javelinas hit five 3-pointers in the final period to shave the deficit to six with 51 seconds remaining, 67-61.
MSU Texas iced the win with a 7-for-11 performance from the charity stripe in the final minute. Kizart converted 5-of-6 from the free throw line in her final seconds at D.L. Ligon Coliseum to secure the victory.
