SAN ANTONIO -- Midwestern State made history with a groundbreaking 4-1 win over ninth-ranked Indianapolis Friday afternoon at the Northside Tennis Center.
 
The Mustangs improved to 7-1 by claiming the program's first victory over a team ranked in the Top 10 of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings.
 
Senior Dillon Pineda and sophomore Nolan McCaig clinched the doubles point by edging Renato Lima and Magnus Mueller taking the tiebreaker -- 7-5 -- at the No. 2 line, but the Mustangs needed to rally after falling at No. 3 to start the match.
 
But the eighth-ranked duo of Ben Westwick and Alberto Diaz claimed a huge 6-3 victory over sixth-ranked combo of Dario Huber and Matej Kostadinov at No. 1 to keep the point alive for the Mustangs.
 
The Greyhounds evened the match at 1-all following No. 32-ranked Nils Hoffacker's 6-2, 6-3 win over Pineda at the No. 2 line.
 
The Midwestern closed the door by taking the next three matches.
 
Junior Angelo Palacios rolled to his eighth consecutive win by claiming a third win over a nationally ranked opponent this season at the No. 1 line. The Piedras Negras, Mexico native took down No. 5-ranked Lima in straight sets -- 6-2, 6-2 -- as the Mustangs regained momentum.
 
Sophomore Alex Martinez-Roca pushed the advantage to 3-1 with a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Mueller at No. 4 before Diaz sealed the historic win taking a 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 decision at No. 5 over Farji.
