Storylines
First Serve
Midwestern State travels to San Antonio for three matches against top 20 opponents. The Mustangs face off with No. 16 Hawaii Pacific, No. 9 Indianapolis and No. 4 West Florida from Thursday through Saturday. First serve in all three matches is slated for 9:30 a.m.

Linn Nears Win No. 300 in the Maroon and Gold
Scott Linn enters his ninth season at the helm of the men's and women's tennis programs, needing 15 wins for his 300th overall win at MSU Texas. The East Central graduate has posted a 285-124 (.697) combined record with the Mustangs, including a 137-62 (.688) mark with the men's program. He needs 222 wins to match Larry Wiggins (1995-2010) program record of 507.
 
Mustangs Drop Three Spots in ITA Poll
Midwestern State moved down three spots to No. 17 in the Oracle/ITA Division II men's national rankings on Feb. 20. At the time of the ranking, MSU Texas had yet to play its first regular season match.
 
The Mustangs represent the highest-ranked squad in the Lone Star Conference and South Central Region.
 
Last Time Out
MSU Texas swept Colorado State-Pueblo on Saturday at the MSU Tennis Center before the finale on Sunday was rained out.
 
Hot Starts
With a 6-0 record, the Mustangs are off to their best start since opening the 2011 season with eight-straight wins.
 
MSU Texas owns a 28-6 mark in singles and a 14-4 record in doubles.
 
Westwick and Diaz Start Top-10
The tandem of freshman Ben Westwick and sophomore Alberto Diaz earned the No. 8 national doubles ranking in the fall after advancing to the ITA Cup.
 
The Mustangs dominated the regional rankings with four doubles teams and five individuals earning a spot in the poll.
 
Alex Martinez Roca and Denney Norrie came in at No. 4 after advancing to the semifinals of the regional tournament, followed by Dillon Pineda and Nolan McCaig at No. 5. The pair of Jean Muniz and Angel Palacios rounded out the rankings for the Maroon and Gold at No. 7.
 
In singles, McCaig (10th), Palacios (11th) and Pineda (13th) climbed up the regional standings after moving to the Round of 16 at the regional tournament. Martinez Roca (17th) and Yaswanth Mylavarapu (20th) closed out the poll.
