WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Taylor Lampe became the all-time winningest goalkeeper in Midwestern State history while making a couple of critical saves to help the Mustangs to a 1-0 win over St. Edward's on Thursday night at Stang Park. The win snapped a three-game losing streak, the program's longest since the 1997 season.
"He has been a part of a lot of great teams here at MSU," Head Coach
Michael Meachum said." And in a game where we really needed a result, he stepped up big time."
Senior
Sergio Lara, who was one of six seniors honored before the game as part of senior night festivities, finished a pass from freshman
Colby Parton inside the box in the 56th minute to account for the game's only goal. It was the first collegiate point of Parton's career.
"This win was good for the boys," Head Coach
Michael Meachum said. "It was not the best performance by any means, but we showed a lot of heart and grit tonight."
Lampe made six saves, none bigger than a first half robbery of Izaac Zausch in the 20th minute from in close that kept the game scoreless.
