PORTALES, New Mexico - Avery Lewis tallied her second goal of the season, but Midwestern State yielded two second half goals to fall to Eastern New Mexico, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon at Greyhound Stadium.
"Our first 45 minutes of play in each of our last three games have been solid," MSU Head Coach
Ryan Spence said. "But this is the second straight outing where miscommunication in the second half led to losses."
Lewis' goal in the opening minutes gave Midwestern State a lead they would hold until an own goal in the 71st minute evened the score. The Greyhounds converted a penalty kick after an MSU hand ball just over a minute later to complete the comeback.
"It was a tough loss," Spence said. "With just two games remaining in the regular season, we need to finish up strong."
