SAN ANGELO, Texas – No. 18 Angelo State rolled to a 3-0 win over visiting Midwestern State on Friday night in a Lone Star Conference match inside the Junell Center/Stephens Arena.
The Belles hit .337 on the night and did not trail in the match until finding themselves in an early 2-1 hole in the third set.
The Mustangs used a
Savanna Dodson kill to move within 7-5 in the opening set, before the Belles went on an 8-2 run to pull away. MSU hit just .057 in the opening frame and finished the night with a .000 kill rate.
ASU finished off the sweep with 25-10 and 25-11 victories and has now won 22-straight matches over the Mustangs.
Rockelle Gholson paced MSU with 5 kills while
Kaitlyn Masseth handed out 9 assists.
