WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Midwestern State rode a three goal first half to a 3-0 Lone Star Conference win over the UT Permian Basin Falcons on Saturday night at Stang Park.
Nicole Marsolek opened the scoring with a strike from outside the box in the 19th minute.
"The big thing we have been trying to do is get our backs forward," said MSU coach
Ryan Spence. "Tonight, Marsolek did just that and it resulted in a goal."
Emma Baley tapped home a rebound in the 32nd minute before
Kelly Cannistra finished the first half scoring with a goal just 2:15 later. Cannistra has scored three goals over her last three games.
Aubrey Pettett and
Rebecca Vincent combined to post Midwestern State's second clean sheet of the season.
"We played well defensively top to bottom," said Spence.
