WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Carlos Blasco scored off a free kick with seconds remaining to lift St. Mary's to a 3-2 double overtime win over Midwestern State on Saturday night at Stang Park.
Blasco's service off a free kick struck the crossbar before crossing the goal line and giving St. Mary's the regular season sweep over the Mustangs.
"We got off to a slow start tonight," MSU coach
Michael Meachum said. "The guys battled to equalize and force extra time, but unfortunately in the end, it did not bounce our way."
St. Mary's raced out to a 2-0 lead just 20 minutes into play after goals from Nenad Markovic and Ollie Wright.
Juanito Ramirez cut the deficit in half with his second goal of the season in the 32nd minute.
