WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Imani Morlock scored her second goal of the season, but Midwestern State suffered a 2-1 setback to the Lubbock Christian Lady Chaps on a chilly Thursday night at Stang Park.
"The effort was there but the two goals we allowed were our mistakes," MSU coach
Ryan Spence said.
Haley Knesek scored her team leading eighth goal of the season in the 11th minute to give the visitors a 1-0 lead. Knesek scored following a failed Midwestern State clearance attempt.
Morlock evened the game with a blast from just inside the box in the 24th minute. Morlock's rocket caromed off the fingertips of goalie Hannah Wise before finding the back of the net.
Maddie Hoel broke the tie in the 74th minute, using her left foot to put one past
Aubrey Pettett.
"The girls continue to put in the work," said Spence. "Good things will happen if we keep working."
Pettett made four saves in the loss.
