OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma – Hikaruhito Meike scored two goals to lead No. 6 Midwestern State (10-1, 4-0) to a 4-0 win on Thursday night over the Oklahoma Christian Eagles (4-6, 1-3) at the Eagle Soccer Field. The Mustangs have now won six straight.
"Another nice win for the guys," MSU Texas coach
Michael Meachum said. "I think we have really focused on getting to the ball during training and the work is paying off."
Sebastian Venegas extended his point streak to six games with a 35-yard strike in the 16
th minute that gave MSU a 1-0 lead. Venegas has tallied four goals and four assists during the streak.
Meike's first goal of the night came in the 29
th minute off a
Julian Barajas pass and extended the Mustangs' lead to 2-0.
MSU added to their lead in the 57th minute when
Carlos Vargas blasted a Juanito Ramirez volley home before Meike's second goal of the night capped off the scoring.
Marc-Antoine Huzen made one save to improve to 2-0 on the year. Huzen has collected clean sheets in both of his starts.
"Huzen continues to play well when called upon," Meachum said. I truly believe we have two of the best goalies in the Lone Star Conference."
