SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – A goal less than a minute into overtime doomed the Midwestern State Mustangs (1-8-1, 0-5) in a 1-0 loss to the St. Mary's Rattlers (3-6, 1-3) on Thursday night at Sigma Beta Chi Field.
"Defensively, we played well," said Head Coach
Ryan Spence. "Unfortunately, our lone defensive mistake of the night happens in the 91
st minute and leads to the game winner."
Following a failed clearing attempt, Leah Whitaker buried a back post find from Alexis Lawrence for the golden goal.
Midwestern State played one down for the entirety of the second half and the brief overtime period after
Nicole Marsolek received her second yellow card of the match in the 43rd minute.
Aubrey Pettett made five saves.
