Lady Buffs sweep @MWSUVball

THE RUNDOWN
WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Junior Erin Richburg produced nearly half of Midwestern State's kills and sophomore Sarah Glawe recorded her second double-double of the season as the Mustangs fell to West Texas A&M, 3-0 (19-25, 18-25, 17-25).

Richburg tallied 12 of MSU Texas' 28 kills while Glawe led the Mustangs with 13 assists and 11 digs. Junior Sarah Eakin and sophomore Raven Presley dominated in the middle with five blocks apiece as the Maroon and Gold outblocked the Lady Buffs, 7-3.

Defensively, MSU Texas played well, holding WT to a .165 hitting percentage, but seven service errors, four blocking errors and three ball handling errors plagued the Mustangs from the get-go.

WT's Selena Batiste just missed recording a triple-double, leading the team with nine kills, 18 assists and 12 digs.

With MSU Texas leading 17-16 in the first set, the Lady Buffs mounted a 9-2 run to close the set to turn the momentum of the match and capture a 1-0 lead.

Through the middle goings of the second set, the Mustangs trailed 12-11, but a 9-1 rally by WT essentially put the set out of reach, giving the Lady Buffs a 2-0 advantage.

Much like the first two sets, a 10-2 run by WT ended the third set to hand the Mustangs their seventh-straight loss.
