Raven Presley produced nine kills in Midwestern State's 3-0 (17-25, 20-25, 17-25) setback on the road at UT Permian Basin.
The Mustangs move to 2-9 on the season and 0-3 in Lone Star Conference play following the loss.
Presley led all players with nine kills, hitting .158 on 19 swings, but six players from UTPB collected at least five kills as the Falcons hit .312 for the match.
MSU Texas rallied from a 7-1 deficit in the second set to take the lead late in the set at 18-17. Errors on six of the Falcons eight points in an 8-2 run to end the set allowed UTPB to capture a 2-0 lead.
Up 14-12 in the third set, the Maroon and Gold surrendered a 13-3 run to end the match.
